RAMSAY DESIGN CENTRE
Industrial opulence unites our collection of venues at Work Nicer Rail Yards in the Ramsay Design Centre. With soaring exposed ceilings, brick walls and chandeliers, our rooms range from cozy alcoves to bright open ballrooms. These spaces within the historic Westeel Building (circa 1919) have unparalleled architectural personalities and are able to accommodate almost any event style you can imagine.

Built in 1912 by Sir James Lougheed, the historic GRAND theatre, soon became the home for arts organizations in Calgary. Our town’s first theatre, opera, ballets & concerts were performed here. Today, the GRAND theatre houses a variety of event spaces perfect for a unique wedding.

Our restaurant, located in Central Memorial Park, is an homage to the quiet spaces we go to experience nature within a city, and to the park’s century old “Garden Rooms” used for courting in Victorian times. Filled with natural light, open to the summer breeze and warmed by fireplaces to dispel the cold of winter, Park is a verdant oasis in the heart of downtown Calgary. The venue is as romantic as it is gorgeous, making it an ideal setting for intimate gatherings.

Shelter cocktail bar is one-of-a-kind. Designed for small groups and parties, the room houses several standout design pieces, including an artfully decorated wall of gas masks and a beautifully crafted light fixture comprised of over 5,000 individually hung bulbs.
